London hotels see record RPR levels

Friday, 31 May 2013

Author: Chris Haycock, Founder & CEO

Despite a ten per cent dip in RPR (revenue per room) experienced by UK hotels across the board, London has bucked the trend and has reached record levels, according to research by PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Although RPR figures in London reflect the success of the London 2012 Olympics to some degree, PwC say that:

{The report} reveals a more fundamental strength: that Londons status as one of leading global cities means it can attract people from all around the world, including those from emerging markets whose economies continue to prosper.

However, RPR across the rest of the UK remains lower than expected, with figures at ten per cent lower than 2007 levels, despite an average 70% occupancy rate.

The full report and 2013 hotel forecast is available for download at the PwC website.
